E008 Historical Announcement and Correction Boundary

Purpose

This record separates Dalton Anderson's March 2024 reaction from facts established by NVIDIA, Figure, and Google DeepMind. The transcript is a timestamped source for what Dalton saw, how he described it, and which possibilities he considered. It is not an independent technical evaluation.

Source-era cluster

NVIDIA announced the Blackwell platform on March 18, 2024. Google DeepMind introduced SIMA on March 13, 2024. Figure's widely circulated Figure 01 language-and-manipulation demonstration also appeared in March 2024.

The three records sit at different evidence levels. Blackwell was a vendor platform launch with architecture and workload claims. SIMA was a research announcement and technical report. Figure 01 was a selected demonstration of an integrated prototype.

Corrections

The transcript mixes percentages, speed multipliers, parameter counts, and a power figure when discussing Blackwell. The public package uses NVIDIA's exact dated statement: up to 25 times lower cost and energy for specified inference comparisons. It does not generalize that claim to every workload.

SIMA means Scalable Instructable Multiworld Agent. The 2024 work focused on following language instructions across 3D environments through image observations and keyboard-and-mouse actions. It was not described as purposeless play, unconstrained autonomy, or physical-robot deployment.

Figure 01 completed a selected table sequence. The video did not publish a reliability rate, intervention history, safety evaluation, or long-duration deployment record. Figure's current history identifies F.01 as the first generation and now presents F.03 and Helix 02 as later systems.

Editorial boundary

The episode's speculation about AGI, consciousness, personhood, rights, labor replacement, synthetic identity, legal work, and household robots remains part of the preserved transcript. Those topics are not promoted as findings because the episode does not provide the philosophical, legal, social-science, labor, safety, or deployment evidence they require.

The public story may say that the three developments suggested a reinforcing stack of compute, virtual learning, and physical action. It may not say that any one source proved the maturity of the others.
