E036 Historical Event Boundary Record

Source event

The transcript preserves Dalton's response to Meta Connect 2024. It discusses Quest 3S, Meta AI voice and image features, AI Studio, translated creator video, business AI, Ray-Ban Meta updates, Be My Eyes, Orion, mixed-reality entertainment, and Meta's platform strategy.

The recording is reaction to a launch event. It is not an independent product test.

Evidence classes

Evidence classWhat it can establish
TranscriptWhat Dalton understood and said in September 2024
Meta event and launch pagesWhat Meta announced, demonstrated, claimed, or planned
Shipping product pageCurrent first-party availability, price, and specifications
Partner documentationCurrent partner feature, setup, availability, and limits
Independent evaluationPerformance or experience under documented conditions
Regulator or legal recordApplicable rule, enforcement, filing, or adjudicated outcome

Historical corrections

Quest 3S moved from announcement to purchase availability on October 15, 2024 according to Meta's updated launch page. Its launch starting price and current listed price must remain separate.

Orion was identified by Meta as a product prototype for employees and selected external audiences. The same page said Orion itself would not reach consumers. The demonstration does not establish a consumer ship date, price, scale, durability, or independent performance.

The Be My Eyes relationship was an announced partnership at Connect. Current partner documentation can support later availability and operation, but it must not be represented as already delivered during the event.

Public framing

The supportable episode story preserves Dalton's excitement while relabeling each statement as announcement, test, rollout, product, prototype, company claim, later update, or unresolved question.

The event's breadth is editorially useful only when spectacle does not collapse those states.
