E039 Historical Demonstration Boundary Record

E039 is an October 2024 reaction to two public events with different evidence.

SpaceX Flight 5 was an instrumented flight test. The observable sequence included liftoff, hot staging, Super Heavy boostback and landing burns, a tower catch, Starship reentry, landing burn, and splashdown.

Tesla's We, Robot event revealed Cybercab and Robovan concepts and showed Optimus interactions in a controlled venue. The company also made forecasts about capability, cost, production, and timing.

Historical claim boundary

The transcript supports Dalton's enthusiasm, questions, and source-era understanding. It does not independently verify launch economics, proprietary control laws, structural margins, Starship reuse, company motives, Tesla cost-per-mile forecasts, production schedules, automated-driving safety, or Optimus autonomy.

Dalton correctly expressed uncertainty about the control mode behind Optimus interactions. Public copy must not convert that uncertainty into an accusation. A reliable named source and precise control-mode language are required for any event-specific teleoperation claim.

Later-state boundary

Current SpaceX, FAA, Tesla, NHTSA, California DMV, NASA, and NIST sources can update the public record. They must appear in dated sections.

Tesla's 2025 filing says it launched a Robotaxi service using Model Y vehicles in June 2025 and expects Cybercab later. A January 2026 company update lists Cybercab as tooling and an Optimus facility as construction. Those company disclosures do not retroactively prove the 2024 concepts or forecasts.

The public package should preserve what was demonstrated, what was claimed, what a regulator authorized, and what later evidence changed as separate fields.
