The Information published "Altman Memo Forecasts 'Rough Vibes' Due to Resurgent Google" on November 20, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific. Stephanie Palazzolo and Erin Woo were the named reporters.
The report says Sam Altman told colleagues in an internal memo that Google's progress could create temporary economic headwinds for OpenAI, that the company had work to do but was catching up, and that he expected the external mood to be rough for a while.
