| Generative extension | New pixels created beyond or inside the captured frame |
| Fully generated image | Pixels produced without a corresponding scene capture |
These states describe production history, not honesty. A captured image can mislead through framing or context. A composite can transparently communicate an intended memory. Claims about reality require provenance, context, and corroboration.
