Preparation record
The traveler should preserve destination-specific health guidance, emergency numbers, insurer and assistance contacts, provider-finding routes, policy number, coverage and exclusions, payment expectations, medication legality, original labels, prescription copies, allergies, conditions, clinician contacts, trusted contacts, language help, accessibility needs, and secure access to records.
Emergency boundary
The public guide cannot diagnose symptoms or define a universal threshold for emergency care. A person with serious, rapidly worsening, or otherwise emergency symptoms should use the destination's emergency service or seek immediate qualified help.
Insurance approval should not delay emergency care. Policy and assistance requirements matter for non-emergency navigation and claims, but medical need controls.
Historical connection
Dalton's Mexico City illness and Tokyo ankle injury demonstrate how language, provider navigation, payment, records, physical mobility, and local help can become part of care. They do not establish clinical quality, diagnosis, system ranking, or universal access.
