Llama 3.1 Variant Selection Record

The official Llama 3.1 release includes 8B, 70B, and 405B parameter scales, with pretrained and instruction-tuned forms. The model card records supported languages, context, intended use, architecture, evaluation, and safety information.

Selection must begin with a bounded workload and matched evaluation. Record exact model identity, base or instruct form, source, files, hashes, tokenizer, prompt format, precision, quantization, conversion, runtime, hardware, context, quality, latency, throughput, cost, safety, and license.

A larger parameter count is not an automatic deployment recommendation. A third-party conversion or quantization is a distinct artifact.
