Llama 4 Forecast, Release, and Successor Record
E014 forecast that a future Llama 4 would emphasize coordinating agents and autonomous task management. The reviewed pre-release sources did not establish that as Meta's announced Llama 4 plan.
Meta released Llama 4 Scout and Maverick on April 5, 2025. The launch emphasized native multimodality, mixture-of-experts architecture, long context, model availability, and vendor benchmark claims. Behemoth was described as still training.
Later in April 2025 Meta announced a limited-preview Llama API and developer tools. The Meta AI app launched with Llama 4.
By 2026 Meta described Muse Spark, rather than Llama 4, as the product-focused model powering the rebuilt Meta AI. Muse Spark 1.1 supported later agent-like product actions in the app and on the web.
The historical comparison therefore has three layers: Dalton's forecast, the actual Llama 4 model-family release, and later Meta AI action features powered by a different model line. Similarity in product direction does not retroactively make the original model forecast an announced fact.
