Meta AI is an assistant product. Its model, product surface, account context, data access, and action authority have changed since E013.

Meta’s April 2024 announcement described a Llama 3-powered assistant across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and meta.ai, with rollout and regional limits. It also described image generation and assistant use inside conversations.

Meta launched a standalone Meta AI app in April 2025. The first version used Llama 4 and added voice, personalization, a Discover feed, web continuity, and the companion role previously served by Meta View for AI glasses.

In April 2026, Meta introduced Muse Spark as a product-focused model powering the app and website, with wider rollout across social, messaging, and glasses surfaces. The announcement later added voice, live camera, shopping, and multi-agent product behavior.

In July 2026, Meta said Muse Spark 1.1 could support plans, recurring work, research, slides, and selected email and calendar connections in supported markets. These capabilities are later product history. They do not prove that E013 or Llama 3 shipped an autonomous agent.

Meta’s generative AI privacy guide describes its collection of generative features and directs users to current controls and terms. Product evaluation must still identify the exact surface, region, account, model, input, personalization, retention, connector, action, and deletion path.
