NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Release and Evidence Record

NVIDIA's March 18, 2024 announcement introduced Project GR00T as an initiative for general-purpose humanoid robot foundation models connected to Isaac Lab, simulation, data, and computing workflows.

On March 18, 2025, NVIDIA announced Isaac GR00T N1 as an open, customizable foundation model and described related synthetic-data and simulation tooling. NVIDIA later announced N1.5 and released N1.6 in January 2026.

The current official Isaac GR00T repository identifies N1.7 as the latest version. NVIDIA labels it early access. The repository says model weights and reference code are available for experimentation, prototyping, and research, while production deployment, commercial support, complete benchmarks, and a fully validated stable feature set are associated with a future general-availability state.

The current product identity is therefore a model family and development stack, not one finished robot. Availability of weights or code does not establish the performance of a robot body, task, environment, integration, safety case, or maintenance system.

Vendor benchmarks and partner examples should remain attributed to NVIDIA. A public profile can establish release chronology, stated inputs and outputs, access routes, and NVIDIA's declared lifecycle language. It cannot convert those records into independent evidence of deployment readiness.
