Personal Evidence Jar Reflection Record

Adaptation

The Personal Evidence Jar adapts the book's Cookie Jar from a collection of motivating memories into a balanced evidence record.

Its purpose is retrieval. A difficult present task can narrow attention until earlier capability, support, and recovery are hard to recall. The record helps a person find a relevant prior case without treating that case as proof of unlimited capacity.

Entry model

FieldEvidence function
SituationPreserves time, context, and what made the experience difficult
ActionSeparates actual behavior from intention or self-description
SupportRestores people, tools, access, and conditions to the account
ResultIncludes partial progress, changed goals, and useful failure
CostPrevents success from erasing disruption or depletion
RecoveryIdentifies what restored ordinary capacity
LimitPrevents unsafe repetition and false generalization
TransferNames one skill, support, or condition relevant now

Evidence boundary

Memory may exaggerate achievement or minimize it. Use available records where practical, preserve uncertainty, and do not assign individual credit for a shared result.

Past endurance does not establish present safety. Changed health, capacity, environment, support, stakes, and responsibility can make two apparently similar situations materially different.

Privacy and care boundary

Entries should remain private by default and should not contain unnecessary confidential information about other people. The public guide does not ask readers to mine trauma, abuse, self-harm, illness, dangerous exertion, deprivation, or humiliation for motivation.
