Personal VR Product Test Record

Test principle

The wow moment creates an adoption hypothesis. It does not show that a headset improves a recurring task.

A personal test should compare the same harmless task with the current non-headset baseline across multiple sessions. It should record poor runs, setup, failures, cleanup, comfort observations, recovery, and whether the person returns voluntarily.

Session record

FieldRecord
ContextDate, device, software, app, account, room, network, accessories, corrective lenses
TaskGoal, input, time box, acceptance criteria, and baseline
SetupUpdate, boundary, fit, pairing, application load, and preparation time
PerformanceCompletion, quality, errors, help, interruptions, and recovery
InteractionText, depth, tracking, controls, keyboard, voice, and accessibility
Human observationBefore, during, after, and later observations without diagnosis
OperationsBattery, heat, cleaning, cable, storage, network, and recharge
CostExtras and subscriptions discovered
ChoiceDid the user choose the headset again without prompting?

Safety boundary

The test does not prescribe a universal session length. Before use, review the current device-specific warnings:

Stop and follow current product guidance when warnings, discomfort, symptoms, room conditions, tracking problems, or another safety concern call for it. The record does not diagnose eye strain, nausea, headache, balance changes, or any other symptom.

Decision

Decide before the return deadline. The valid outcomes are adopt for the tested task, narrow the use, test one defined uncertainty, return, or defer. More unrelated demos do not resolve a failed recurring workflow.
