Podcast Production State Model

Track each episode through idea, qualified, researching, guest invited, scheduled, recording ready, recorded, editing, factual and privacy review, release ready, published, distributed, measured, and archived.

Every state needs an owner, due date, evidence gate, next action, and exit condition. Guest episodes require identity, relevance, consent, scheduling, brief, recording, release, and follow-up records. Solo episodes require a claim ledger and source readiness.

Maintain a small release-ready buffer, a backup episode, a cutoff for postponement, and a recovery rule that does not reward chronic emergency work.
