Grok and Companions

The current xAI help center says Companions are available only in the iOS app and are not available on the web or Android. That statement is the current official documentation reviewed on July 27, 2026. In-app availability, region, account eligibility, characters, prices, and behavior still require a live product check before publication. Grok FAQ

xAI's privacy policy is effective April 4, 2026. It asks users not to include personal information in prompts and inputs. It describes collection and use of account data, user content, conversation history, technical data, and other information. It says Private Chat conversations are deleted from xAI systems within 30 days unless longer retention is necessary for legal, compliance, or safety purposes. The current consumer terms are effective June 26, 2026. They set a minimum age of 13 or the local minimum age, require parental or guardian permission and agreement for users 13 through 17, and warn that selected features or prompts may produce coarse, sexual, or violent situations. xAI consumer terms

The policy text governs Grok on xAI's own service. Grok accessed through X is governed by X's privacy policy and terms. A privacy guide must check the actual surface, not only the model name.

Meta Vibes

Meta launched Vibes in September 2025 as a personalized feed inside the Meta AI app and meta.ai for discovering, generating, remixing, and sharing short AI videos. Meta said Vibes posts could be shared to the feed, direct messages, Facebook and Instagram surfaces. Vibes launch record

Meta's current Privacy Policy includes interactions with Meta AI and related metadata among the information it may collect and use for product development and personalization. Meta also announced Incognito Chat in May 2026 for WhatsApp and the Meta AI app, saying those temporary conversations are processed in a private environment, are not saved, and disappear by default. Vibes is a content feed, not itself a confidential conversation surface. Its privacy questions include prompts, source uploads, drafts, published output, engagement history, remix lineage, cross-posting, personalization, and account linkage.

Episode-era boundary

The E084 transcript records Dalton's September 2025 product observations and third-party clips. The original visual assets have not been established in this package. The public Episode Story can describe the observed mechanics in qualified language but should not republish third-party sexualized clips or identify the people in them.

Current policies should not be retroactively attributed to the episode-era interface.
