Correction to E021
The E021 transcript described RCS as encrypted on both sides as though encryption were a universal property at the 2024 announcement. That is not an accurate current or historical generalization.
The public record must identify the protocol and encryption state separately. A green bubble does not prove RCS rather than SMS or MMS, and the RCS label does not prove end-to-end encryption. Check the conversation details and current settings.
Test boundary
A useful interoperability test fixes iPhone model, iOS build, carrier, region, counterpart device, counterpart app, network, message type, attachment size, group composition, and encryption indicator. One successful conversation does not establish support across every carrier or counterpart.
