OSHA's robotics overview emphasizes non-routine operating conditions and the robot work envelope. NIOSH studies traditional, collaborative, mobile, wearable, and AI-enabled robots and supports risk profiles, injury monitoring, safety research, standards, guidance, and training. NIST's AI risk resources add testing and documentation practices for AI components.
Consent boundary
Consent does not mean that every workplace robot requires an individual contract. It means the public draft must not treat affected people as passive scenery. The applicable labor rules, workplace policy, accessibility duties, safety law, collective rights, and alternative procedures vary by setting and jurisdiction.
Figure's current privacy policy confirms that its services may process sensory data such as photos, videos, or recordings of a person or environment. That first-party disclosure supports asking a privacy question. It does not establish what any particular robot deployment captures.
Publication use
The public essay is a readiness framework, not legal, employment, safety-engineering, privacy, accessibility, or procurement advice. It should distinguish industrial, research, care, public, and household contexts instead of presenting one risk verdict for all robots.
