Safe Ratings and Certification Research Note

Safe claims must be matched to a specific property, standard, class, model, and current record.

UL Solutions lists UL 687 for burglary-resistant safes. The same service page distinguishes residential security containers evaluated under UL 1037 and identifies other standards for locks, vault doors, and anti-theft devices.

UL 72 covers tests for fire resistance of record-protection equipment. A fire classification does not establish burglary resistance. A burglary classification does not establish fire protection.

An FCC ID concerns radio authorization. The Space Safe's FCC ID 2BEAZ-TSS1 supports wireless documentation and access to the public manual. It does not establish physical attack resistance, fire resistance, total cybersecurity, biometric accuracy, emergency response, or suitability for regulated storage.

Steel thickness, weight, bolt count, cameras, fingerprints, alarms, price, and marketing comparisons are product facts or claims. They do not substitute for a listing.

The verification sequence is to request the certification body, standard, class, model number, listing identifier, and current certificate. Confirm that the shipped unit matches the listed construction and that the claimed use stays within the scope of the standard.

Venture Step did not locate a current independent burglary or fire listing for The Space Safe during the July 27, 2026 public-source review. This is an evidence gap, not a test result or a finding that the product would fail.
