Source-Grounded Study Loop Framework
Learning principle
Use generated explanations and formats to return the learner to the source, then remove the tool and test independent recall or application.
Generation volume is not a learning outcome.
Study loop
Begin with a specific capability such as explaining a mechanism, comparing two positions, solving a representative problem, or applying a rule to a new example.
Assemble an approved source pack and record its gaps.
Attempt a short diagnostic without AI. Preserve the answer so later improvement has a baseline.
Ask focused questions. Open the cited passages and correct the learner's notes in the learner's own words.
Use one alternate representation, such as an Audio Overview or study guide, for another pass. Do not assume the chosen format is universally effective.
Close the notebook. Retrieve the concepts without prompts, then apply them to a new problem. Check the result against the source or an accountable instructor.
Schedule another retrieval attempt later rather than treating one fluent session as durable learning.
Evidence boundary
Practice testing and distributed practice have research support as learning techniques. That evidence does not validate a particular generated quiz, product, course, learner, or outcome.
The workflow must follow academic-integrity rules, accessibility needs, and institutional policy.
Medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, and other high-impact topics require qualified expertise. A closed-book answer is not a professional credential.
