As of the review date, California DMV records distinguish testing with a driver, driverless testing, and deployment. CPUC records separately govern autonomous passenger service. Waymo holds California passenger-service authorities including driverless deployment. Zoox holds drivered and driverless pilot authorities, and its company page describes public Las Vegas service and selected San Francisco riders. GM states that it stopped funding Cruise robotaxi development and integrated Cruise autonomy work into GM's personal-vehicle strategy.
